Thank you for choosing TropiCool bed acclimatising system a remarkably versatile product which offers a choice of Air-conditioned bed cooling in summer and bed warming in winter, or if you have a dual control system your partner can have bed warming or cooling on their side while you choose your preferred option on your side. This acclimatising system has been designed and manufactured to high standards of engineering and with proper use and care, as described in this leaflet, the appliance will give you years of useful service.

Please read the following carefully.

• Use only the voltage specified on the rating label of the climatising unit.

• Do not cover or restrict airflow to the inlet or exhaust grilles in any manner as the appliance may overheat and become a fire risk.

• Keep all walls and objects at least 15cm from the top, front, sides and rear of the appliance.

• Do not block air inlets or outlets in any manner. Check the openings from time to time for accumulated dust. Ensure long shag carpet does not obstruct airflow under the unit.

• Do not place the appliance close to a radiant heat source.

• Do not insert or allow foreign objects to enter any ventilation or exhaust opening.

• Do not operate any appliance with a damaged cord, plug or after the appliance malfunctions or has been dropped or damaged in any manner. Return to a qualified electrical person for examination, electrical or mechanical adjustment, service or repair.

• This appliance is intended for home use only and not for commercial or industrial use.

• Deposits of dust or fluff in the appliance can cause damage if left to build up. Ensure these deposits are removed regularly by unplugging the appliance and vacuum cleaning air vents and grilles.

• Do not use abrasive cleaning products on this appliance. Clean with a damp cloth (not wet) rinsed in hot soapy water only. Remove the plug from the mains supply before cleaning.

• Do not connect the appliance to the mains voltage until completely assembled.

• It is normal for this appliance to heat up slightly when in use.

• Avoid placing the unit on top of the mattress cover.

• Avoid twisting the cable or folding the mattress cover while the unit is operational

• Be cautious of placing any sharp objects on top of the mattress as they may cause damage

• Do not insert any objects into the unit vents.

• Any water accidentally spilt onto the buttons should be wiped off.

• If water is accidentally spilt into the fan vent unplug the unit and leave to dry out.

• Do not run the cord under carpeting, rugs, runners etc. Arrange the cord away from traffic areas so that it will not cause a tripping hazard.

• The appliance is not recommended for use by children unless under the direct supervision of a responsible adult.

• Young children should be supervised to ensure they do not play with the appliance.

• In the unlikely event of the electric cord being damaged, it must be replaced by a qualified electrical engineer in order to avoid a hazard.

• Do not use this appliance outdoors, or on wet surfaces. Avoid spilling liquid on the appliance.

• Always switch off the unit at the power outlet then unplug the appliance from the power when not in use.

• If you produce static electric some clothing may exacerbate this, especially in dry weather. Susceptible individuals to help avoid any static discharges the following actions may be beneficial: Ground yourself often. Avoid dry skin rubbing on clothes made of synthetic materials as this can cause static electric charges to build up. Keep moisturized. Wear rubber soles on shoes. Wear natural fibres

• The appliance is designed to sit on a flat horizontal floor only and not on shelves, tables or cabinets.

Clean the appliance with a wet clean cloth or anti-electrostatic cloth.		Do not clean the outside of the appliance with chemical cleaners.		Caution increased incidents of static electrical discharge.

Disposal of your old appliance

Waste electrical products should not be disposed of with household waste. Please recycle where facilities exist. Check with your local authority or municipal office for recycling advice.

1. Fitting the Mattress Topper
Place the TropiCool mattress topper on top of your mattress with the connection (3) at the foot or head of the bed depending on your preferred layout and the location of the unit(s). Secure the mattress topper with the elasticated straps at each corner ^§Note Below and place a sheet or mattress protector over the topper (1). Attach the female socket MT2(1) into the mail connection (3) at the opposite end using the male connection (2) attach into the female socket MT3(1)

2. Positioning

To fit the cooling and heating blanket place on your mattress with the connectors either at the bottom or the top of the bed depending on your layout i.e. if the control unit is to sit at the head or the foot of the bed.

Face the blanket either way up this does not affect the efficiency. Secure the blanket by attaching elasticated straps in each corner over your existing mattress once fitted cover with a mattress topper or a single sheet or both. (Important do not use in conjunction with any electric blanket)

If you have purchased a double blanket with the solo unit you can attach the tube to either side of the blanket depending on user preference. Only one side of the bed will be cooled or heated, at the end of each tube is a connector which has a valve so it is safe to remove the tube with fluid in it however we would advise against leaving fluid in the blanket for long periods and would instead suggest you use the drain key to remove water if not in use for extended periods. If required additional control units can be purchased separately which will turn a double mattress with the solo unit into a Companion model giving users on either side of the mattress personalised heating or cooling functionality; please email us for details.

Leave the elasticated straps loose positioned underneath the mattress the silicon matrix enclosed within the mattress will keep the TropiCool mattress in place on the bed if however, if you experience a problem please contact us and we will send you a simple kit to rectify this.

3. Connecting Pad Tube and Control Unit.
IMPORTANT Push all connectors in firmly until they click and lock into place. The flow will automatically stop if the tube is disconnected
a) Connect the male plug on the tube CN1(1) also MT2(2) with the female socket (2) on the control unit.  See CN2 correctly fitted.
b) Connect the female socket on the tube CN3(1) also MT2(1) with the male plug (2) on the mattress pad. See CN4 correctly fitted.

^ƒ Remote Control Due to restrictions placed upon us by our delivery agent we are unable to enclose batteries within our boxes. 2 batteries are required for the remote control please accept our apologies for not being able to provide them however AAA batteries are easily obtainable from most general stores.

Cleaning Tips for your TropiCool Mattress Topper 

• It is preferable to clean the Mattress Cover by hand avoid harsh detergents or biological powders; hand wash soap flakes are ideal. If washing in a washing machine set to a delicate wash cycle a low-temperature with no spin.
• Allow drying in the open air Do Not tumble dry.
• Do Not Dry Clean.
• Do Not Iron.
  When folding the mattress avoid bending it too sharply as it may damage the inner silicone.
• In the unlikely event and to avoid condensation forming under the mattress we recommend airing of your mattress and bed once or twice a month
  

^{* Temperature Range.} The lowest factory pre-set cooling temperature is 18°C/64°F. You can set the unit temperature level lower than this, however, depending on external factors such as room temperature the unit will not go below the factory pre-set.

A. Cleaning: Regularly clean dirt and dust off the fan protector on the front of the control unit. Clean the dirt off inside the window of the Control Unit. If this builds up it affects the efficiency of the unit. The user can take off the fan lid off to clean or wash, dry and then refit to the control unit.

B. Emptying water from the control unit and mattress:

If the system has not been used for an extended period of time we recommend flushing the water and refilling with fresh.

To do this turn on the control unit and let the water circulate in the mattress for 2 to 3 minutes before disconnecting pipe, topper and control unit, then empty the water using the plastic key to release the valves on the tube and the unit making sure you have to drain the water into. Once empty, refill the tank with new water connect tubes and mattress topper to circulate the freshwater topping up as the reservoir falls.
